What happens after you send it
Invoices get paid late when nobody follows up. Resolut follows up for you — politely, on schedule, in your name.

…and on a schedule up to 90 days, until the invoice is marked paid or you pause it.
Resolut reminds your client as the due date approaches and follows up after.
Reminders are emails sent in your name. You review the templates before anything goes out.
Payment terms, explained
Payment terms are the deadline printed on the invoice. Pick the shortest terms your client relationship can bear — and pair them with reminders. An invoice nobody chases gets paid when the client gets around to it.
| Term | What it means | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Due on receipt | Payment is expected as soon as the client receives the invoice. | One-off jobs, new clients, small amounts. |
| Net 7 / Net 14 | Due 7 or 14 days after the issue date. | Freelance and agency work, retainers, clients who pay by card or e-transfer. |
| Net 30 | Due 30 days after the issue date — the most common default. | Established B2B relationships, clients with an AP process. |
| Net 45 / 60 / 90 | Extended terms, usually requested by larger customers. | Only when a contract requires it. Price the delay in, and remind before the due date. |
| Custom date | A specific due date agreed with the client. | Milestone billing, projects with a fixed payment calendar. |
Two things move the payment date more than the terms you print: reminding before it's due (so the invoice is approved and scheduled on time), and following up quickly after it isn't. That's the job Resolut does with the invoice you make here.
What to put on an invoice so it gets paid
Write the invoice for the person approving it. They need to answer five questions without emailing you back:
- 01
Who is this from?
Your business name, address, contact email and — where required — your tax or registration number. A logo helps it get recognised in a crowded inbox.
- 02
What is it for?
One line per deliverable or period, with quantity, unit and rate. Reference the PO or contract number if the client uses one — invoices without it stall in approval.
- 03
How much, exactly?
Subtotal, any discount, each tax as a named line with its rate, and one unmistakable balance due in the currency you expect to be paid in.
- 04
By when?
A specific due date, not just "Net 30". Dates get calendared; terms get interpreted.
- 05
How do I pay?
Bank or e-transfer details, who to make a cheque out to, or a payment link — whatever you actually accept. Missing payment details are the most common reason a ready-to-pay client asks a question instead of paying.

It starts a 30-day free trial of Resolut. Upload this invoice there and Resolut schedules reminder emails around the due date. You review the emails before they go out.
